Established in 1984, Traditional Line is a general contractor and architectural restorer based in Manhattan, New York City.
In addition to the residential renovations that form the core of our business, Traditional Line has a long history of historic preservation for museums and civic and cultural institutions.
Museum-level Quality
We have restored and installed period rooms in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Museum, the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Seattle Art Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and others, and worked in both public and private historic interiors in and around New York City, and extend the same level of care and craftsmanship to modern renovations.
Diverse Skill Set
Traditional Line prides itself on responding successfully to the technical, aesthetic and budgetary requirements of diverse private and public projects. Our exceptional reputation has been earned though our staff’s technical expertise and ability to manage projects of any size, guaranteeing each client a consistency in quality and efficient problem-solving and scheduling.
Project Flexibility
Traditional Line’s attention to detail and workmanship is unparalleled, and we specialize in creative solutions and custom work. We work with many architects and designers and, for smaller projects, can design and manage projects internally. We employ an in-house staff of project managers, carpenters, wood finishers, specialized workers, helpers, and an administrative team, and we have an extensive network of specialty contractors with whom we work very closely.
As a general contractor, Traditional Line coordinates and supervises all subcontractors necessary to complete any project. Close relationships developed with a large range of tradespeople enable us to achieve the high level of quality and finish that our projects demand, and our close-knit structure allows us to provide the kind of personal attention that our projects require.
